Ryan is a PhD student studying Clinical-Community Psychology at the University of South Carolina where he is also pursuing a concentration in Quantitative methods. Ryan’s research interests include racial-ethnic socialization, racial identity, and minority mental health. As an I-CaRe Fellow, Ryan works at the Prisma Health Immunology Center where he provides behavioral health services for the prevention and treatment of Substance Use Disorder (SUD) to individuals living with or at-risk for HIV as well as other infectious diseases.

Kris is a doctoral student in the Clinical-Community Psychology Program at the University of South Carolina. Her work centers on research and systems change initiatives that promote the dissemination and implementation of evidence-based school behavioral health practices. As an I-CaRe fellow, Kris works at North Central High School providing counseling and consultative services for adolescents experiencing mental health and substance use concerns. 

Jon is a fifth-year student in the Clinical-Community Psychology program at the University of South Carolina. His research interests include clinical decision making and improving the quality of publicly funded mental health services. As an I-CaRe fellow, Jon is providing substance use treatment in a safety net primary care clinic and inpatient setting.

Kaylyn is a PhD student in Clinical-Community Psychology at the University of South Carolina. As a community-engaged researcher, she is passionate about partnering with communities to address health disparities and promote systems-change. As an I-CaRe fellow, Kaylyn works at The Courage Center – a recovery community organization that focuses on providing substance use treatment and prevention services across South Carolina.

Sydney is a fourth-year doctoral student in the Clinical-Community Psychology program. She graduated from Fordham University with a B.S. in Psychology. As an I-CaRe Fellow, Sydney works at the Prisma Health Family Medicine Clinic where she provides behavioral health services to adults who may be dealing with Substance Use Disorder in addition to other mental health challenges. Her research interests are currently focused on adverse and positive childhood experiences and their relation to adult mental health.

Sarah is a 5th year PhD student in Psychology at the University of South Carolina where her dissertation research focuses on improving outcomes for adolescents and young adults with Opioid Use Disorder (OUD). As an I-CaRe Fellow, Sarah provided integrated behavioral care at the Prisma Health Upstate Addiction Medicine Center. She recently received a new grant to study barriers to treatment for adolescents with OUD in South Carolina, with the goal of improving access to care for youth with substance-related challenges.

Yvette is a 4th year PhD student in Clinical-Community Psychology at the University of South Carolina. Yvette has expertise in the area of promoting positive outcomes for individuals with ADHD. As an I-CaRe Fellow, Yvette provided psychological services at the Prisma Health Upstate Addiction Medicine Center, where she provided psychotherapy and other supports for individuals with Substance Use Disorder (SUD), including those prescribed Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD).

Dr. Wu is currently a postdoctoral fellow at Johns Hopkins University where she works to improve prevention of mental health disorders among youth. While a fellow in the I-CaRe Center, Dr. Wu provided integrated care at the Prisma Health 1801 Clinic and led a community-engaged study to understand how to better support peer support specialists in South Carolina.

Wendy is currently a doctoral psychology intern in Clinical Psychology at the University of Illinois-Chicago (UIC) Department of Psychiatry. Wendy’s research and clinical expertise centers on improving mental health treatment engagement among youth from ethnic minority backgrounds. While an I-CaRe Fellow, Wendy provided prevention services to youth and families in a pediatric hospital-based outpatient center.

Jess is currently completing her doctoral psychology internship in St. Petersburg, Florida. While an I-CaRe Fellow, Jess led an innovative study exploring overdose prevention among service industry workers and bartenders in South Carolina. She also provided psychological services to individuals at-risk for or experiencing Substance Use Disorder (SUD) at the Prisma Health 1801 Clinic.

Chandler Knott is currently a Psychology Doctoral Intern at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine where she is gaining clinical expertise practicing in a behavioral medicine clinic, as well as other clinical settings focused on neurodevelopmental disorders.

Miranda is a 5th year PhD student in Clinical-Community Psychology at the University of South Carolina where her research and clinical training focus on addressing sleep disorders and neurodevelopmental disorders. As an I-CaRe Fellow, she provided tele-behavioral health services at the Prisma Upstate Addiction Medicine Center as well as worked with families and adolescents impacted by Substance Use Disorder at a recovery community organization.

Morgan is a 5th year PhD student studying Clinical-Community Psychology at the University of South Carolina. While an I-CaRe Fellow, Morgan provided integrated clinical care at Prisma Health Family Medicine where she worked with individuals prescribed Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD)—the ‘gold-standard’ treatment for Opioid Use Disorder (OUD).

Elizabeth is currently a psychology doctoral intern in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at McGovern Medical School - University of Texas Health Houston. While an I-CaRe Fellow, Elizabeth provided integrated behavioral care in the Prisma Health Family Medicine Department.

Sarah Grace is a 5th year doctoral student in Clinical-Community Psychology at the University of South Carolina. While an I-CaRe Fellow, Sarah Grace led a community-engaged initiative to learn more about how to engage local musicians in efforts to address the opioid crisis. Sarah Grace also worked at the Prisma Health Immunology Center, providing behavioral health services to individuals living with or at-risk for HIV.

Maggie is a 5th year PhD student in Clinical-Community Psychology at the University of South Carolina. Maggie’s dissertation research focuses on preventing and addressing substance misuse and Substance Use Disorder (SUD) among Asian American and Pacific Islander young adults. As an I-CaRe Fellow, Maggie provided psychological services to clients at The Courage Center—a recovery community organization supporting the needs of youth and families in South Carolina.
